    Giggle Poetry:  Lots of funny poems, poetry contests and more!

    Poetry 4 Kids:  A collection of poems for children written by one author. The site also has links to other poetry areas on the Web as well as resources to help children practice writing poetry.

    Write an Acrostic Poem:  An interactive tool that enables students to learn about and write acrostic poems which uses the letters in the topic word to begin each line.

    Write a Diamante Poem:  An interactive tool that enables students to learn about and write diamante poems which are shaped like a diamond and use specific types of words like adjectives or -ing words.

    Power Proofreading:  Requires Adobe Shockwave.  It is a a fun, interactive site by Houghton Mifflin that builds students proofreading skills.

    Common and Proper Nouns:  Play a basketball game that has you distinguishing between a common noun and a proper noun.
