Bellmont Middle School

Excellence: Teach it, Model it, Inspire it, Achieve it

Welcome to Bellmont Middle School

  • Bellmont Middle School is a four-year educational facility offering a comprehensive program for students Grades 5-6-7-8.  The mission of Bellmont Middle School is to produce contributing members of America’s diverse society.  We stimulate intellectual curiosity within a school environment where students feel a sense of safety, community and ownership.  We promote pride in individual achievement and help students meet their potential by instilling the value of accomplishment based on good behavior, work and effort.

Bellmont Middle School has a population of approximately 475 students in Grades 5-6-7-8.  We have an 8 period day consisting of a Remediation/Enrichment period, 5 Core Subject periods (Reading, English, Math, Science, and Social Studies), and 2 Related Arts periods.  Each team at each grade level has a period of team planning set aside for planning of cross-curricular work; team time for meeting with parents and students; planning of test scheduling; planning homework load; scheduling weekly agenda; planning awards assemblies.

5th Grade is still considered Elementary.  Students only switch classes for Math.  Related Arts is scheduled as a rotation for the week.  Rotations are Art, Keyboarding, Music, and 2 days of PE.

Grades 6, 7 and 8 Related Arts rotate on a Red/Blue schedule.  RAS classes vary on grade level.  6th Grade includes: Art, Keyboarding, PE, Tech. Ed, BMS Pride, and a music choice, Band, Music, or Choir.  7th and 8th Grade follow a similar schedule with Red/Blue, but have a different class.  7th has Family and Consumer Science, while 8th Grade has a FFA  (Intro to Ag.) class.

We welcome you to join us to see what Bellmont Middle School has to offer. If at any time, I can help answer questions or share more about our school and student learning, please contact me at 260.724.3137 or via email at dickek@nadams.k12.in.us and I will be happy to assist you.

    Yours truly,

    Keith Dicke, principal
