  • Northwest Elementary Joins "No Excuses University" Network

    5/6/2011 - No Excuses University is a college readiness network model that works on two principles: 1. Every child has the right to be prepared to attend college; and 2. It is the responsibility of adults in the school to develop exceptional systems that make that dream a reality. Northwest is proud to be a working partner in pursuit of preparing our students for academic achievement and college success.

  • 21st Century Learning

    2/3/2010 - Northwest Elementary 21st Century Community Learning Center is recognized for exemplary performance by the Indiana Department of Education. The program earned the highest rating possible for performance in four focus areas related to program quality.

  • North Adams Community Critical Issue Meetings Begin

    9/11/2009 - Approximately 75 people attended the informational meeting at Bellmont Middle School to discuss the current and future fiscal condition, equity in resources, primary student achievement, intermediate student achievement, and secondary student achievement. Two additional meetings are scheduled for September 30, 2009 and October 19, 2009, both at 6:30 PM in the Bellmont Middle School Cafetorium.

  • North Adams Community Schools Public Meeting on Critical Issues

    8/27/2009 - Critical issues that impact student achievement, financial limitations, resource equity and restrictions in learning environments will be part of an important public discussion scheduled on Thursday, September 10, 2009 at 6:30 PM at Bellmont Middle School. Strategies and visions for the future will be planned topics in this first of a series of open community meetings.

  • Special Board Meeting Scheduled

    8/14/2009 - The North Adams Community School Board is holding a special meeting to receive public input on both elected and appointed school boards. Residents wishing to speak are asked to attend on Monday, August 24, 2009 from 6:30-8:00 PM at the North Adams Administration Building.

  • North Adams Offers Dual AP Credit

    7/22/2009 - "Early College High Schools are designed to afford students the opportunity to earn up to two years of college credit while completing a high school diploma. In many cases, students are able to graduate high school with an associate's degree," stated Jeannie Smith, Bellmont High School testing coordinator.
