Indiana Academic Super Bowl State Runners Up Lillie Hunt, Kortney Springer [team captain], Khia Hirn, and Lydia Roop, all members of Bellmont's English Team, recently received "Runners Up" at Indiana State Level Super Bowl Competition.

Congratulations to these fine young ladies for their impressive achievements and accomplishments in the Indiana Academic Super Bowl Junior Division Area Contest, supported by IASP [Indiana Association of School Principals].

Our Bellmont Middle School 8th grade representatives competed at the Regional level, earning the "Junior Super Bowl Overall" award before the BMS English team competed and earned the "Academic Super Bowl State Runner-Up" award at the State level competition.

This feat did not come easily. A record-setting 246 teams participated and included over 4,100 students, grades 6-8. The topic of the Academic Bowl was "Hoosier Heritage" in honor of Indiana's bicentennial for the competition.

Congratulations, ladies, on your hard work and endless hours spent in preparation of the event! And a big thank you to their academic coach, Mrs. Janis Coffman for her time and dedication to the team. In her words, "It is an honor to work with the top students. They are such diligent workers and I have learned so much from working with them. The countless hours they put in to get here was all well worth the effort. They are so deserving."

.... As they are to also receive the North Adams "North Star Award." Congratulations.
