Isaiah Wellman Receives Additional Essay Contest Recognition

Adam Eguia of Post 6236 presented a scholarship check to Bellmont High School student Isaiah Wellman. This check was awarded from the VFW 4th District Auxiliary.

Wellman, who has been previously presented with two checks from VFW Post 6751 and the VFW 4th District for being chosen as this year's Post and District winner of the Voice of Democracy essay contest, was also selected as this year’s recipient by the VFW 4th District Auxiliary. This marks Wellman’s third award from the VFW.

Each year, nearly 57,000 high school students compete for scholarships and incentives. Wellman’s awards are a result of an essay submitted in Mr. Riehm's AP U.S. History course. “Congratulations, Isaiah,” shared Mr. Lineberry, social students teacher at Bellmont High School and Military Liaison for North Adams Community Schools. “On behalf of Bellmont, we are extremely proud of your hard work, well-written essay and area achievements. Your efforts represent our pride at Bellmont and we congratulate you on your honors.”
